Unit in Concern
BL 460c Gen9 Server
Symptom
Mouse does not get detected when the Windows 2008 R2 boot in to the desktop.
Observations
* Mouse does work at the BIOS level, Intelligent Provisioning screen and while the Windows 2008 R2 is installing
* Mouse stop working after Windows is boots in to the desktop.
* Mouse and the key board is connected to the blade server through the SUV cable
Blade SUV Cable |
Fix
* The USB driver for the server needs to installed from the HPE site. Even though the mouse and key boards are detected by Gen8 blades when connected through SUV cables, Gen 9 blades appear to require separate driver for the same USB(key boar and mouse) devices.
Though below HPE advisory article suggest to install Microsoft update KB2529073 from
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2529073/binary-files-in-some-usb-drivers-are-not-updated-after-you-install-windows-7-sp1-or-windows-server-2008-r2-sp1 , installing USB3 driver from HPE site has fix the issue.
